Speaking of "sacred sites", are you familiar with the "Turtle Mountain" idea? Imagine a cosmic turtle on North America, with it's 4 little hoofies at sacred spots. Turtle Mountain (just south of Manitoba) is, apparently, the geographical center of the continent. Many years ago I had the idea of creating a center there ... something along the lines of alternative processes for public policy ... you know, discourse and community engagement stuff. Anyhow: have you ever been down that way? I've been west of there, and east of there, but not there ... Metis country, I guess. And Lakota.

hehehe. Carbery Desert! (I don't think that's spelled right) Boisevein, Killarny, a place called "The Pits" (old quarry that had been truned into a swimming hole), all in that Turtle Mountain area. Yes yes many memories as a young boy and youth. How interesting.

I also like what you said in your email..."Banff school meets Winnipeg hippie vibe." I just about fell off my chair when I read that. (I mean that in the best possible way).
